Keep Your Blades Oiled

When I moved out to my cabin in the woods, I knew that one of the most important tools that I would ever own would be my chainsaw.  The simple fact of the matter is that I have to keep the cabin warm in the winter with a wood stove, and so I have to regularly chop wood in order to make sure that I can survive the winters.  Because I had never used a chainsaw before, I did not realize just how important it is to keep the blades on a chainsaw lubricated with metal cutting oil.  This is actually vitally important if you are looking to not only get good cuts on your wood, but also if you are hoping to maintain the blades on your saw for as long as possible.  Failing to properly lube your blades can often lead to them being damaged, and it is not cheap to have to replace your saw blades regularly.

Rather than having to replace your saw blades on a regular basis, it is recommended that you actually keep them in as good shape as possible by making sure they are always lubed up before you begin to cut.  This will help you to get the cleanest cuts possible while also making sure that your blades last as long as they possibly can.  There are a number of different oils out there, and so it is important to make sure that you find the right one so that you can keep your blades in tip top shape.

If you are going to be using a chainsaw on a regular basis, please keep in mind how important it is to oil your blades so that you can avoid causing damage to them and having to replace them.
